Summer in the UK boasts many cool music festivals, sporting events and local carnivals welcoming thousands of people. We take a look at just a few of the top events the UK has to offer in summer.

Wilton Classic and Supercar Show

Many car fanatics shall visit the event this year as they plan to check out some of the greatest and fastest cars on the planet. In what is a fun day for all of the family, there will also be other activities on to keep younger children entertained whilst the adults enjoy the cars.



Glastonbury Music Festival

Glastonbury is one of the greatest music events of the year and, although Friday’s headliners, The Foo Fighters, had to pull out of the festival, many are anticipating that this could be the best year yet. Kanye West, Florence and the Machine and The Who are headlining the Pyramid Stage this year and will be well worth watching.



Wimbledon Tennis Championships

This year’s highly anticipated event gets under way in late June after the organisers moved the grass court event back a week to accommodate for those athletes entering the French Open at Roland Garros. Andy Murray will carry British hopes and if you like tennis, strawberries and cream, this event may well be for you.



Tewkesbury Medieval Festival

If you’re into your history, then this event will certainly tickle your fancy. A medieval festival to celebrate the infamous Battle of Tewkesbury on the original site of the 1471 clash. With those who partake in the battle preparing food, weaponry and sleeping in authentic medieval tents, you really do feel like you are a part of history.



World Pea Shooting Championship

If you would rather attend one of the UK’s alternative sports instead of the tennis at Wimbledon then the World Pea Shooting Championship may be right up your street. The Championship is ran in association with Witcham’s village fair and puts on an excellent, fun-filled day for all who visit the event. With barbecues, cream tea and other features, it’s certainly an attractive event to attend.

RHS Flower Show

RHS Flower Show celebrates the best in British gardening and takes place at the beautiful Tatton Park gardens in mid-July. There is a carnival-like atmosphere and the organisers always provide a superb show for all of the family. Overall, it’s a spectacular day out and the numerous activities and stalls mean that everybody can attend.



British Firework Championships

The event returns to Plymouth for its 19th year and many spectators will attend to see fireworks lighting up Plymouth’s remarkable waterfront this summer. The Royal Air Force’s tremendous aerobatics team, the Red Arrows, are set to provide a thrilling show for all who attend.



Creamfields Festival

The UK’s biggest dance festival arrives on the Bank Holiday weekend and many ravers shall travel to Daresbury in anticipation for the event. EDM’s biggest artists, including Avicii, Tiesto and Hardwell, will all play at the festival for the thousands of crazy festival-goers.
