Do you enjoy spending your holidays doing little more than lie back and soak up the sunshine? If you’re anything like us, you’ll love visiting sun-soaked destinations in Europe where you can make the most of pleasant weather and return home with a glowing tan that will be the envy of all your friends.

If you’re considering taking such a holiday, perhaps the most important question you need to ask yourself is where to go? France – and in particular the south-west region of the country – has long been a popular destination among British beach bums, so it’s definitely a place that I think you ought to consider. Head to Saint-Tropez, however, and you’ll all be set to enjoy a fantastic holiday in one of the most chic resorts in Europe.

Although there are many reasons why Saint-Tropez is a popular holiday destination (not just among the average tourist, we hasten to add, but also with the rich and famous), one of the things that attracts people the most is the wealth of amazing beaches. These, of course, provide a wonderful opportunity to lie back and laze in the pleasant sunshine, as well as enjoy great views of the Mediterranean Sea.With that in mind, we’ve put together a bit of information about some of the region’s top coastal stretches.

Plage des Salins

If you’re looking to enjoy a little peace during your break, we certainly advise you spend a couple of hours at Plage des Salins. Although it’s closely situated to Pampelonne (which we will talk about in greater depth later on) and the centre of the town, the beach has a quiet, wild feel to it.

As such, it’s a great place in which to connect with nature and I’m sure that any stress or strain you may have been experiencing recently will soon melt away. Of course, if you’re going to be spending a few hours sunbathing, it’s quite likely that you’ll soon work up an appetite. In such cases, we recommend you head to the La Plage des Salins restaurant for sustenance. Here, you can tuck into some classic Mediterranean fare, including freshly-caught seafood dishes.

Plage des Graniers

Head a little distance out of the village and you’ll find Plage des Graniers. This pretty little beach is enclosed in wooded hills, so it’s certainly a great place in which to relax and enjoy some pleasant natural scenery. If you find you’ve worked up an appetite, you should stop by the La Plage des Graniers where you can enjoy a tasty grilled fish lunch.

Pampelonne

Last, but certainly not least, Pampelonne is well worth visiting. In fact, as it’s the largest beach in Saint-Tropez (it stretches some three miles), it’ll be hard to miss!

Even though some 30,000 people come here every day during the peak summer season,we still think you’ll find there is still plenty of space for you to lay down a towel and soak up some rays.

As you can see, the resort is home to a range of great-quality beaches, so if you’re considering making it the destination for your next sunshine getaway, we advise you look into booking a luxury villa in Saint-Tropez. As you can imagine, the town can get very crowded during the summer months, so it’s a good idea to reserve your accommodation as soon as possible so you avoid disappointment. Once you do that you can start planning which beaches to sunbathe at, though you may prefer to soak up some rays by your villa’s swimming pool.
