I found this gem of a hotel to stay with my family before flying out to Sardinia from Gatwick in August. The 4-star Mercure Box Hill Burford Bridge Hotel is located in a quiet picturesque setting in easy reach of the M25 (great for Gatwick and Heathrow airports). We have stayed at many London airport hotels in the past and this trip we fancied something in the countryside and this hotel ticked all the boxes – great location, lovely rooms, delicious food and a great size heated outdoor swimming pool.
Bedrooms
The bedrooms (connecting rooms) we stayed in were lovely and perfect for the four of us.
Dining
We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere with our two boys for dinner in the bar lounge – the food and the service was great.
Outdoor Heated Swimming Pool
The complimentary outdoor heated swimming pool (open between April and September) was a real surprise and treat – we spent a lovely afternoon relaxing by the pool.
