Where is the coolest place to stay and see the Northern Lights? Travelphant’s vote goes to Hotel Igloo Village Kakslauttanen in Finland. The Northern Lights can be seen anywhere above 60 degrees north latitude but to see them from this igloo village would be an amazing experience. Don’t worry, special thermo glass prevents the igloos frosting up to ensure clear views and a warm interior.

Imagine yourself sleeping in an Igloo made of Snow. It’s totally quiet. Lights inside ice illuminate the Igloo. These make the atmosphere so exciting that never get bored of marvelling it, until you fall to deep, comfortable sleep in your warm down sleeping bag.

  1. WoW…"Trip the light fantastic" anyone?
how beautiful…I wonder how teh homeless view northern lights

  2. I hope pot is allowed in those Igloo's cuz I'd be burning some "northern lights" while looking at them

  3. I actually Googled this hotel and night there costs around 350 euros per night for 2 people, not that bad, taking into account the experience, snow igloos are also available

  4. WOW! Very cool place to experience at least once in your life. Wonder if they offer any cross-country skiing or snow shoeing to get a workout in too?

  5. I couldn't believe it when it I saw this on National Geographic a few years ago. Back then it was still envisioned as a project in dire need of support and funding. Several years later I stumbled upon this site only to see this again and it's so real now. Oh my God I am booking a trip there for sure.
