Africa is not on the tourist trail. Sure, people go and visit Africa, but it is not like Australia or South-East Asia where thousands of people flock every year. Africa has a stigma that puts a lot of people off when it comes to travelling, however, we are here to tell you that is nonsense. The continent is one of the best places to visit on the planet because there are plenty of exciting, diverse and unique experiences to partake. So, what can you do when you visit Africa?

1. Go On A Safari

The one experience that you have to try above every other is a safari. Africa is home to some of the biggest and wondrous animals on the planet, all of which are easily visible from the safety of a jeep. From your vantage point, you can watch them in their natural habitat as they go about their daily rituals. If you are very lucky, you might get to see them play and interact, or you might even get to watch them hunt. Whatever you see, you won’t forget it anytime soon.

2. Hit The Road

Yep, Africa is a great place for a road trip. When you think about road trips, your mind will instantly think about travelling across the USA on Route 66. But, although that is a great place to go for a road trip, it is not the only place. Africa is amazing because of its natural beauty and the sheer strangeness of the trip. While you are driving across the plains, you will see some of the world’s largest predators just milling around and enjoying their day. Honestly, that is unparalleled when it comes to road trips. You will have to learn a few things first because it can be dangerous. But, with the right knowledge, you can have an amazing time.

3. Dive With Sharks

Down by the tip of South Africa, Great White Sharks gather in large numbers to hunt. Just off the coast, there is an island that is full of seals, the shark’s favourite meal. Due to the large numbers of seals, the sharks make their way to the island and wait for their opportunity. Because of the large number Great Whites, it is the perfect opportunity to see them in their natural habitat. All you need are a boat and a sturdy cage, and you can watch them do their thing. There is nothing more exhilarating than getting up close and personal with a Great White Shark.

4. Climb Mount Kilimanjaro

Kilimanjaro is the largest mountain in Africa. Located in Tanzania, it is a dormant volcano mountain that reaches more than five thousand meters high. Okay, maybe climbing to the summit is not realistic, but you can still do a trek that will reveal amazing views of the landscape. Even from the bottom of the mountain you cannot help but marvel at the size and beauty of Kilimanjaro.

Africa is full of various activities that you should enjoy. The above are just four of the highlights.
