Saint Kitts and Nevis are two islands forming one country in the Caribbean Sea. There are several other beautiful destinations in the West Indies. But these are two of the most stunning. They’re small compared to some of the other islands, but they still have a lot to offer. There are incredible beaches, scenic mountains and plenty to do for people who love to be outdoors. If you’re looking for reasons to take a trip to either of the main islands, keep reading to find out why they really mustn’t be missed.

From Beaches to Rainforests

One of the best things to enjoy on both St Kitts and Nevis is the incredible scenery. Of course, you can’t go to any Caribbean island without enjoying the beaches. Both islands have beautiful strands for you to enjoy, and there’s plenty to do in and on the sea. When you’re not tanning on the sand, you can take a catamaran cruise between the islands. If you want to explore the rainforests of St Kitts, you can do so from the ground or the air. Horseback tours are perfect if you want to do it at a slower pace, but choose the zipline canopy tour if you want a thrill.

Exclusive Residential Communities
Both St Kitts and Nevis have some beautiful places to stay. It doesn’t matter if you’re there for a short while, or you want to buy a vacation home. You’ll find real estate in Nevis in exclusive communities, where you can enjoy amenities from private pools to golf courses. Only a select few people live in these places, so you’ll have all the peace and tranquility you want. If you’re only planning a short stay, there’s plenty of beautiful temporary accommodation too. You can choose your preferred place to stay, from intimate B&Bs to sprawling resorts.

Party Scene
Neither of the islands has a roaring nightlife. But that’s to be expected in most places in the Caribbean. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t places to party if you’re looking for a good time. You can spend your evenings eating good food, drinking rum and dancing the night away. Try Sunshine’s in Northern Nevis or the Reggae Beach Bar on the Southeast Peninsula of St Kitts. Head to Basseterre, the nation’s capital, if you want a range of restaurants to choose from. There’s plenty of local cuisine to try if you’re looking for an authentic experience.

History
There’s a lot of history on these two islands, even if a lot of it is a reminder of a tragic past. There are plenty of reminders of slavery and the slave trade among the most famous sights. They include the spooky Eden Brown Estate, an 18th-century sugar plantation. You can also walk along Upper Round Road on Nevis, which was built in the 1600s to link the sugar estates, villages and cane fields around Mount Nevis. Today, it goes past farms, orchards and rainforests. If you want museums, try the Alexander Hamilton House in Charlestown.

There’s also the National Museum in Basseterre. There’s a lot to see and do in Saint Kitts and Nevis. If you’re considering a Caribbean vacation, don’t discount it from your possible destinations.
