The winter season presents the opportunity to enjoy some of the finest attractions the historical city of London has to offer. Many of these attractions are affordable and provide a full day of fun, whether you’re a family, group of friends, a couple on on your own. Here we select five of our favourite things to experience in London during the winter months:

Ice Bar London

This cool (literally!) bar consists of tables and a bar counter made purely of ice. A series of intricate ice sculptures add extra décor to the bar’s interior. Personal drink glasses carved from ice keep beverages cold and refreshing. All of the ice used in the construction of the Ice Bar London comes directly from the frozen waters of Torne River located in Jukkasjärvi, Sweden.

The British Museum

Founded in 1753, this museum continues to attract thousands of visitors from around the world each year. Exhibitions showcase many ancient artefacts and priceless works of art. The museum also features manuscripts, scrolls and other literary works dating back thousands of years. Visiting this attraction is particularly ideal when winter weather conditions are less than favourable.

Clay Pigeon Shooting London

Dating back to the late 1800’s, clay pigeon shooting has been a popular activity, especially with the wealthy. Clay Pigeon Shooting in London offers participants the chance to work on their shooting skills in a fun and safe environment. Speed and precision are required in order to hit the flying targets. Qualified instructors are always available to provide assistance.

Riding this gigantic Ferris wheel offers an amazing experience for the whole family. Once you’ve purchased your ticket and entered your capsule, you will have 30 minutes to enjoy panoramic views of the entire London cityscape including the Houses of Parliament, St Paul’s Cathedral, Tower Bridge and many other famous London landmarks. The enclosed passenger capsules offer respite from the chilly weather in the winter months and the opportunity if you get there at the right time to experience an amazing sunrise or sunset over this historical city.
