Okay so lets start off the first of 5 things to do in Moraira with one of the most popular things to do like many coastal Spanish towns - going to the beach.

Beaches

One reason why Moraira is so popular is the beautiful turquoise-coloured crystal clear water and the lovely safe sandy beaches. Everyone loves a relaxing day at the beach and in Moraira you are spoilt for choice as there are eight beaches to choose from:

  1. Club Nautica

There are plenty of restaurants, children's playgrounds, showers, and yacht facilities to take advantage of at all of these beach locations.

Shopping

Moraira is a Spanish resort with many shops in the town with plenty of quality goods and souvenirs for everyone.

There are many bars, cafes along with banks, estate agents and much more - all your necessities can be found in town. You can find all you need within a reasonable distance.

If you prefer a bigger shopping experience, you can easily take the AP7 to Valencia city.

Dining

One of the most enjoyable things to do when away from home, whether on holiday or business is eating out in new places. Spain has fantastic food to try and Moraira town is full of great places to eat. They range from the small tapas bars to the huge international restaurants.

In Teulada you can get some tapas at Meson el Refugio, or from the Bar Costa Blanca. There is also the European shopping centre located in town with a lot of the big-name shops.

Nightlife

Everybody loves to let their hair down when they're away from home. Whilst Moraira is a bit 'upscale' without being snobby, for those who would like a more 'hedonistic' experience, you can head down the coast and land yourself at Benidorm.

Many of the restaurants in Moraira have live entertainment, especially during the summer season. During the Summer season, almost every night, they provide shows and spectacles including Miss - Bikini/Topless/Tanga/Wet T-Shirt/Turismo and Mr - Macho/Legs/Hairy Chest - competitions, Foam Parties, Flamenco Dancers and Striptease.

Late night "disco" entertainment in Moraira is also provided at the Saxo Disco (which has an inside dance floor) and Algas beach Bar and Restaurant. Both do snack meals and Algas is also open during the day as a beach bar.

Many Moraira bars and restaurants have live entertainment - flamenco guitarists, jazz and blues, pop music etc.

Fish Auction

One of the highly recommended activities after breakfast, is to visit the fish auction in Teulada. They hold it from Tuesday until Sunday, and it last for about one hour, depending on how the fishing went and the day's catch.

The Fisherman's Guild fishing fleet is made up of eight trammel boats. This is their traditional fishing method that ensures a successful catch of quality fish from the Bay of Moraira. Bidders make bids on the fish. Some of the fish normally found in those waters are red stream bream, red mullet, hake, octopus, scorpion fish, rock fish, dentex, and beach fish. The auction is open to the public and to traders, so everyone can participate and enjoy.
